Get to Know About Our Association
The Esan Association of New England is a 503C (Nonprofit) organization that brings together members of the Esan ethnic group, primarily from Nigeria, who reside in the New England region of the United States. This association plays a significant role in fostering community, preserving cultural heritage, and supporting the social, educational, and economic well-being of its members.
The members of the Esan community of New England reside in various cities like Boston, Medford, Chelsea, Alston, Roxbury, and likewise. Others live in the suburban towns like Braintree, etc. The association is thus open to all Esan in the Boston area and its environs. As it is evident, our sons and daughters go where opportunities for them and their children are found. Besides, they normally meet, at times without knowing, and have common aims. There should be an organization to bring them together, reunite with one another and share the happiness of their new environments.
The Esan Association of New England is one of the several Nigerian ethnic groups in the Boston area. The town of Esan is located in the Midland of Edo State in Nigeria. However, this association has no political ambitions and is limited to the promotion of general welfare.
The Esan Association of New England was established in Boston, Massachusetts initially in 1986, and later reopened in 1992. However, most of the EANE community members have been around since the early 1970s and until the present time. The objectives of the association are to help unite our people as a community, contribute to each other’s wellbeing as families as well as individual members, and to foster greater friendship and support amongst its members. The association serves as a medium for the Esan community for the maintenance of cultural, social, economic, intellectual activities and others that contribute to the general welfare of its members.
- Our Mission
